It all started in 2008, when I fortuitously landed at the bottom of a Native American vision quest site in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. When I began to have 'close encounters' with bull elk over a 4 year time period, I decided I had to share the unedited photographs. Everyone is taken with a 50-75 mm lens. The elk came to me, often within feet.
This encounter found me sitting under this pine tree, this bull followed me down a very narrow walk. He poked his head through the trees. I was sure I was going to die this day so figured I would document what happened.
One of my favorite photographs.
